The Challenge

The project presented several fabrication and delivery challenges, including:

  • Complex geometry requiring tight fabrication tolerances and precision welding
  • Coordination between multiple contractors, consultants, and inspection authorities
  • Compliance with AS/NZS 5131 (CC3 Construction Category) and AS/NZS 1554.1 SP (Structural Purpose Welding)
  • Conformance to MRTS78 (2020) requirements for Transport and Main Roads bridge steelwork
  • Delivery under a compressed schedule to align with broader construction milestones
  • Transport multiple oversized loads under pilot (up to 27m long and 5.5m wide)

These requirements demanded meticulous planning, robust quality assurance processes, and expert execution at every stage.
