Mitesh Mojidra wins 2017 AMCA Industry Award

HVAC Queensland is proud to announce that Mitesh Mojidra was awarded runner up for the 2017 AMCA Industry awards, in the Engineering Support category.

The annual industry dinner and awards ceremony was held on the 20th May 2017 at Southbank. The Engineering support award recognises a demonstrated excellence in three criteria:-

  • Career and Study achievement
  • Communications, Team and Leadership
  • Ambassador for the mechanical services industry

Westfield Chermside Level 2 Gallery Mall now open

HVAC Queensland is proud to be part of the Westfield Chermside new Level 2 Gallery Mall which opened on 6th April 2017.
The new Gallery Mall opening is Stage 1 of the major development currently being constructed at Westfield Chermside.
The North Shore entertainment and dining precinct will be opening in Mid 2017. HVAC are proud to provide the mechanical services to Westfield Chermside.

The Westfield Chermside redevelopment is currently under construction, with the Stage 1 opening held on 6th April 2017.

The Stage 1 opening included over 50 new stores in the new Level 2 Gallery Mall. The new mall heralded the addition of major tenants such as Sephora, Zara and H&M to Westfield Chermside.

Stage 2 will be opening mid-year and includes the North Shore entertainment and dining precinct.
The Stage 1 construction added approximately 35,000 sqm of retail gross floor area to the existing shopping centre, with the mechanical services including two new centrifugal chillers, forty three new chilled water air handling units, and smoke extraction and ventilation systems.
The Level 2 mall was constructed by Scentre while the existing centre was in full commercial operation, and  included the fabrication of “Floating Barrel Vault” skylights which were subsequently winched into position over the existing centre.

Abian nears completion

IMG_47782Sunland Group’s iconic Abian tower located at the entrance to the Botanic Gardens in Brisbane is on schedule for completion in mid 2017.

The 41 storey Abian Tower which has been fully sold out, features a distinctive sculptural form that continually curves and tapers with a smooth exterior form.

HVAC Queensland Pty Ltd are on program to deliver the Mechanical Service including central chilled water plant, individual apartment room air conditioning, carpark ventilation and smoke control systems for this iconic building.



 

New appointment to the HVAC Mechanical team

HVAC Queensland is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Chiles to the role of General Manager of our Mechanical business effective from the 11th January 2016.

Mark has been involved in the commercial HVAC industry for over 20 years and spent the last five years with Johnson Controls.

We are excited with the industry experience and management depth that Mark brings to the HVAC Queensland Mechanical team.

Steel Mains License

HVAC QLD Pty Ltd is pleased to announce that we have signed a license to manufacture Sintakote® coated steel fittings from Australia’s leading manufacturer of steel pipeline systems, Steel Mains.

Steel Mains has been manufacturing steel pipe & fittings for the Australian water industry for over 100 years. Steel Mains is a leading provider of world class pipe jointing systems, Sintakote® external pipe corrosion protection and cement mortar lining internal corrosion protection.

Sintakote® is a fusion bonded medium density polyethylene coating for steel pipe, which is capable of withstanding the harshest conditions, below or above ground. Sintakote has over 40 years of application experience in the Australian market by Steel Mains and enjoys an enviable reputation as one of the world’s most superior pipeline coatings.

HVAC will supply Steel Mains product range which includes Steel Pipe manufactured to AS1579. HVAC will be licensed to manufacture and supply Steel Pipe Fittings with a licensee capability to apply Sintakote® in accordance with Steel Mains strict application requirements. Combined with access to supply Steel Mains pipe in their full range of end configurations including Rubber Ring Joint (RRJ) Sintajoint, Ball and Socket (BSJ) and Sintalock, HVAC will be able to provide a complete Sintakote protection system for your project needs.

HVAC will also be stocking standard sizes of Spherical Slip In Joint (SSJ) pipe manufactured and supplied by Steel Mains in accordance with Australian Standard AS1579. This will allow contractors quick access to smaller quantities of pipe for their daily needs.

As a licensed fabricator of Sintakote Steel Pipeline Fittings, HVAC will be well positioned to service the Queensland, Northern Territory and Northern NSW Water Infrastructure market.

APLNG Construction Phase

HVAC Queensland is proud of our contribution to the upstream works
for APLNG with Laing O ‘ Rourke.  We are working closely with our cladding contractors ( QIC ) for the outstanding work
on the complex steel structural buildings and that house compressor stations.

  • Project: APLNG – Compressor Sheds & Misc Steel Packages
  • Location: Western Queensland
  • Client: Laing O’Rourke
  • Project tonnage of approximately 1800T plus

Scope of Work: Supply, fabrication and surface treatment of Structural Steel for 15 Compressor Sheds
to service the gas gathering for Origin’s APLNG project. Seven Sites comprised of two compressor shed
on each with one site containing three sheds. Misc steel packages for each site included,
pipe supports, bridges, walkways and other structural buildings.

Challenges: The need to get a single organization to provide for multiple packages and who have experience
with Oil & Gas construction. HVAC was able to provide high quality workmanship
that met the requirements of the Oil & Gas industry.

Engineering Solutions: HVAC were selected as they were able to provide a full Fabrication service
with onsite capabilities to erect and install misc packages.
Trial assembly of misc steel packages, Site installation. Fabrication completed well in advance of schedules

HVAC are renown for our turnkey capability which includes structural and fixed Plant installation and the on-going service of fixed plant.

As part of the Westfield Garden City development, Westfield have “Cerebral Palsy League” as their nominated charity & aim to raise $50,000 over the course of the project.

HVAC has committed to doing two AC install for some very deserving people chosen by the League organisers.
