Andrew Clarke and Gordon Waddell talked to the Australian Resource Focus publication about HVAC and how the companies diversity...

Client: FK Gardner (FKG) Group can boast over 30 years experience in the civil construction industry. They operate throughout Queensland and Northern NSW, with offices in Toowoomba, Roma, Brisbane, Mackay and Cairns. FKG is a foundation member of the Surat Basin Corporation, members of the Civil Contractors Federation, the Urban Development Industry Association, the Chamber of Commerce, Commerce Queensland and MESCA.
HVAC have completed many projects for FKG since in Queensland across many market sectors.
Challenge: FKG required a company that could design, build and install a Dust Collection System for the Department of Main Roads situated in Roma some 430 Km away from Brisbane. FKG required a system with an unusual design that included dust capture hoods being integral in the work bench and cast into the concrete slab floor.
Scope of work: HVAC scope of work was to design, build and install a dust collection system for the Soils Laboratory. This included installation of dust collector, centrifugal fan and compressed air supply. The unit was completed in the HVAC workshop in Redbank where a trial assembly was conducted. Once this had been approved by the project manager, the unit was shipped to Roma where it was installed by our experienced HVAC crew.
Engineering Solution: FKG selected HVAC because of the wide range of skills available in one organization. HVAC was able to design and build the unit and then carry out a trial-assembly in Brisbane before Shipping it to site. Once on site HVAC installed and commissioned the unit. During the design the limited space available in the building for the ducting had to be considered as well as precise engineering of the components, to ensure they could be installed correctly.
