HVAC’s Redbank operations are located in the original Army Stores Depot, the only surviving part of a huge World War II army camp at Redbank http://www.ipswich.qld.gov.au/documents/planning/redbank.pdf.

During World War II, an army camp was established at Redbank and training exercises were conducted for both Australian and American service personnel. A tent camp was established near the Swanbank Power House and there were firing ranges from south of this camp to White Rock. This area was used for machine gun training and other exercises and three gunpits can still be seen along the ridgeline southwest of White Rock.
